“Los Ejes de Mi Carreta” is a 1950s Argentinian folk song, composed & originally sung by beloved musician & ethnographer Atahualpa Yupanqui. The song is an ode to the lonesome gaucho of the Argentinian pampas, as the milonga rhythm echoes the turning of a carriage’s wooden wheels & the song’s lyrics tell of the questionable company kept by the sound of their axels.
